Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a rally in Barasat, West Bengal made a communal campaign speech just a few days after claiming he will never do communal politics.

In the rally, PM Modi alleged that the state’s ruling party Trinamool Congress(TMC) has been insulting the saints of Ramkrishna Mission. He went further to claim that the party, led by Mamata Banerjee, does politics of appeasement and is allowing the insults of Saints to allow their ‘Jihad’ to continue.

These comments directly contradict his claim that the only reason he brings up Muslims is because he has to speak on it due to the manifesto of the Indian National Congress(INC) and the INDI Alliance. Here, he is directly claiming that a ‘Jihad’ will be carried out against the Hindu Saints in West Bengal unless his party, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP),  wins the state in the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections

PM Modi went on to talk about providing free rice, free electricity and other facilities to the poor of the state. He also talked about the alleged lies spread by TMC about the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019(CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC).

PM Modi ended the speech by asking the followers in attendance to visit all the temples they can and pray for him and his party’s victory.

PM Modi was campaigning in West Bengal for the ongoing Lok Sabha Elections 2024. The last phase of voting, Phase 7, will be held on June 1st 2024. The results will be announced on June 4th 2024. PM Modi has filed his nomination from Varanasi where the elections will be held during Phase 7.
