Ranchi: Tribal Groups Ask for Bandh Over Flyover Ramp Near Sacred Sarna Sthal

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India] March 22: The tribal groups in Ranchi, Jharkhand's capital, asked for a bandh on Saturday to protest the construction of a flyover near sacred Sarna Sthal.

The tribal groups want the ramp that was made as part of the Siram Toli-Mecon Flyover project to be taken into from the Sarna Sthal in Siram Toli.

Rajeshwar Nath Alok, the additional district magistrate (Law and Order) for Ranchi, said that everything is fine and that police are ready.

"We were told that there was plenty of traffic in the Lowadih and Kanke areas." They are being communicated and the roads are being cleaned. A few people had also come to Birsa Chowk to help with the bandh. They were also talked to and told to leave the area.

Things are normal in nature. The police department is ready to go, they have sent out more policemen, and they are monitoring.

People saw the protesters setting trash on fire and stopping city roads.Because of the bandh call, Ranchi Police have made a lot of security arrangements.

Tribal people in Jharkhand believe that the Sarna Sthal at Siram Toli is precious, and they want the ramp to be taken down so that cars don't use it for movement, which would make the holy place less pure and cause delays there.
