RCB faces two defeats in a row; LSG wins two matches in a row

The 15th match of the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) was played between Lucknow SuperGiants and Royal Challengers Bangalore. In this match, Lucknow defeated Bangalore by 28 runs and achieved its second win in the tournament. This is Bangalore's third defeat. Quinton de Kock and Mayank Yadav of Lucknow performed tremendously in this match. While De Kock played an inning of 81 runs, Mayank Yadav wreaked havoc by taking three wickets with his fast ball.

Lucknow SuperGiants innings

When Lucknow came to bat first, De Kock and KL Rahul made a good start. But first captain KL Rahul returned to the pavilion after scoring 20 runs. At the same time, De Kock continued to hold the lead. De Kock played an innings of 81 runs in 56 balls. However, Pudikkal was out after scoring 6 runs and Stoinis was out after scoring 24 runs. Puran played an unbeaten inning of 40 runs. With this, Lucknow scored 181 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs.

Maxwell took 2 wickets for Bangalore. While Topli, Yash Dayal and Siraj got 1 wicket each. Whereas Mayank Dagar and Green could not get even a single wicket.

Royal Challengers Bangalore innings

While chasing the target of 181 runs, the Bangalore team got off to a good start. But the batsmen could not hold their wickets. Virat, who came to open, was out on 22 runs and Duplessis was out on 19 runs. Whereas Rajat Patidar could score only 29 runs. But the biggest shock was Maxwell's dismissal on zero. Cameron Green was also out on 9 runs. While Anuj Rawat lost his wicket for 11 runs and Lemmer lost his wicket for 33 runs. In the end, Karthik could score only 4 runs, Mayank Dagar could score zero and Topli could score 3 runs. In the end, Siraj scored 12 runs by hitting two sixes but the entire team collapsed for 153 runs in 19.4 overs.

Mayank Agarwal took 3 wickets from Lucknow. While Naveen Ul Haq was also successful in taking 2 wickets. Whereas Siddharth, Yash Thakur and Stoinis got 1 wicket each. Whereas two wickets were achieved through run out.

Faf Du Plessis Statement

Faf du Plessis, the captain of Bengaluru, after the match said that dropping catches really cost them the match. He added that Mayank Yadav's pace was great but his ability to control length and bowl with discipline was more impressive. He accepted that his team did not bowl well and gave some easy boundaries. He emphasized on the need for partnerships while chasing.

KL Rahul's Statement

In the post match conference, Lucknow's skipper KL Rahul said that it was a really good performance by their squad. He stated that the wicket was a bit tricky and there was a little help for the fast bowlers. He further added that Mayank Yadav has waited patiently for two years and it was nice to see him bowl with such exceptional pace in the match.
