Devastating Losses at Mata Vaishno Devi Mandir

The Reasi attack in Jammu and Kashmir is devastating news for all of us Indians, especially for Hindus. The victims were on their way to visit one of India's most famous Hindu sacred pilgrimages, Mata Vaishno Devi Mandir, considered one of the Shakti Peethas. In the attack, terrorists killed the devotees before they could reach the temple. On the way, terrorists fired at the bus, causing it to fall into a ravine. This heartbreaking news has led to widespread demands for swift action by the government and police, as it is seen as an attack on the Hindu religion in India.

Arrest and Investigation Begin

Today, on June 19, 2024, Wednesday, Jammu and Kashmir took its first action by arresting the first person suspected in the Reasi terrorist attack. Mohita Sharma, the Senior Superintendent of Police in Reasi, stated, "One person has been formally arrested in connection with the Reasi terror attack. He is not the mastermind but played an important role in the attack." According to the police, the arrested individual's name is Hakim Din, a resident of Rajouri. He is suspected of providing logistics support to the terrorists involved in the attack.

Incident Details and Government Response

In the attack on June 9, nine people lost their lives and 33 were injured. As mentioned earlier, these individuals were traveling to visit Mata Vaishno Devi Mandir. They were Hindu devotees aboard a bus heading from Shiv Khori Cave Shrine to Katra. The attack occurred in Teryath village, Pouni area of Reasi district. On June 17, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) handed the case over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who chaired a high-level meeting leading to this decision, instructed security forces and intelligence agencies to "replicate the successes achieved in the Kashmir valley against terrorism" in the Jammu region.
