Lipi Rastogi after suicide was taken to the GT Hospital but died during her treatment, the note said no one should be blamed.

Incident Details

Lipi Rastogi, the 27-year-old daughter of senior Maharashtra IAS officers Radhika and Vikas Rastogi, died after jumping from a high-rise building in Mumbai. According to the reports the  Police said she was anxious about her academic performance, which forced her to take this extreme step.

Hospital and Treatment

She was taken to GT hospital but unfortunately passed away during treatment.

Timing and Location

The incident occurred at around 4 am near the state secretariat. Lipi jumped from the 10th floor of the Suruchi apartment near Mantralaya. At the suicide spot, a note was also found where it was written no one should be blamed for her death. So a case of unnatural death has been registered at the Cuffe Parade police station.

Background

Lipi was a law student studying in Sonepat, Haryana. Police officers believe she was anxious about her exams.

Vikas Rastogi, the victim’s father, is the Principal Secretary of Maharashtra’s Higher and Technical Education Department. Radhika Rastogi, her mother, is also a senior IAS officer serving in the state government.

Similar case

In 2017, another similar tragic incident occurred. Maharashtra IAS officers Milind and Manisha Mhaiskar lost their 18-year-old son after he jumped off a high-rise in Mumbai.
