4. Move your body every day

Exercise is one of the things you can do for your heart. You do not have to exercise a lot every day. You should move your body regularly.

Sleep is when your body fixes itself. If you do not sleep well it can increase hormones, blood pressure and the risk of heart disease.

A lot of people do not sleep enough because of work, social media or being busy. Experts say sleep is just as important as eating well and exercising.

You should try to sleep for 7 or 8 hours every night without any interruptions. If you have a sleep routine it can improve your mental health make your immune system stronger and protect your heart.

India’s Whisky Cocktail Revolution Rising

India is seeing a change in the way people enjoy whisky. Earlier people in India mostly drank whisky neat or with ice. Now that is changing fast. On World Whisky Day some of the bars in India showed how whisky is being used to make exciting cocktails. This is a sign that Indias whisky cocktail culture is growing, where old ways of drinking meet ideas.

India is one of the markets for whisky in the world. People in India drink a lot of whisky every year. For a time they drank it in a traditional way. Now younger people and bars in cities are changing this. Of just drinking whisky on its own people want drinks that are fun and exciting. This change is helping whisky to become more than a drink it is becoming a flexible ingredient for cocktails.

One of the reasons for this change is that people are looking for experiences when they go out at night. Bars, lounges and cafes are opening everywhere in India. People are spending money on these experiences. The bar and pub market in India is now worth a lot of money. It is still growing. People do not just want cocktails anymore they want something exciting with unique flavors and stories behind them.

A key part of this movement is the use of blended Scotch whisky like Johnnie Walker Black Label. This whisky is known for its taste, which makes it perfect for bartenders to experiment with. They can mix Johnnie Walker Black Label whisky with coffee, fruits, spices and even desserts to create flavors.

On World Whisky Day four popular bars in India got together to create an event called "Whisky Experiments". Each bar created cocktails that used whisky in a way. One bar used coffee to make cocktails, which's a big part of Indian culture. Another bar used fruits in ways showing that fruity drinks do not have to be sweet

A third bar used ingredients like flowers, cookies and tea to create exciting cocktails. This showed that freshness in cocktails can be more than herbs and citrus. The last bar used spices to create cocktails, which showed how Indian flavors can make global spirits unique.

These experiments show that whisky is no longer for traditional drinking. It is now a canvas for creativity and bartenders are using whisky in exciting ways. Indias whisky culture is entering an era, where bars are always coming up with ideas and customers are looking for new experiences. The future of whisky in India is not just about drinking whisky on its own it is, about creating flavors with whisky.

How to Keep Your Heart Young and Healthy Naturally

Keeping your heart healthy is not about how old you are. It is about the choices you make every day.

According to Dr Sanjay Bhojraj, a cardiologist your heart can get older faster or slower depending on how you live your life.

Your real age is based on when you were born.. Your biological age depends on how healthy your body is, including your heart organs and cells.

This means a 45-year- person who eats well and exercises may have a strong heart like someone much younger.

On the hand bad habits can make a young persons heart work like an older persons heart.

The goal is not to make time go backwards. It is to slow down how fast your heart gets older and keep it working well for long as possible.

What Makes the Heart Age Faster?

Dr Bhojraj says many daily habits can make your heart get older faster. These include:

1. sleep

2. Stress

3.Not exercising

4.Muscle strength

5.High inflammation in the body

6.Unhealthy eating

He says damage builds up slowly over time. Often you do not feel any symptoms until it becomes a health problem.

Many people think they are healthy just because they do not feel sick.

However Dr Bhojraj says hidden issues like stress, poor metabolism and inflammation can quietly affect your heart health.

How to Keep Your Heart Younger

Dr Bhojraj suggests lifestyle changes that can improve your heart health and slow ageing:

1. Build Muscle Strength

Strength training helps your body work better and supports your heart. It also gives you energy.

2. Walk After Meals

Walking lightly after eating helps your blood move better. It also helps control your blood sugar levels. This reduces strain on your heart.

3. Manage Stress Better

Stress is one of the causes of heart ageing. You can try breathing, meditation or short breaks during the day.

4. Monitor Blood Pressure

Keeping your blood pressure under control is essential for long-term heart health. Regular check-ups are important.

5. Improve Overall Lifestyle

Focus on sleeping drinking enough water eating balanced meals and moving regularly.

Looking Beneath the Surface

The doctor also advises looking at health markers such, as:

Cholesterol levels

Insulin resistance

Inflammation markers

health

These indicators help doctors understand how fast your body is ageing internally. Even if you look healthy on the outside these markers can show what is happening inside.

Do you automatically sprinkle extra salt on your food before eating? According to heart experts, this small daily habit could slowly increase your risk of high blood pressure and serious heart disease.

Dr Amit Mittal, senior consultant in cardiology at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, Delhi, warned that many people consume far more salt than their body actually needs — often without realising it.

Why too much salt is dangerous

Salt contains sodium, and excess sodium makes the body retain more water. This extra fluid raises blood pressure and forces the heart to work harder every day.

Over time, this can:

Damage blood vessels

Stiffen arteries

Increase blood pressure

Weaken the heart muscle

Raise the risk of heart disease and stroke

The biggest problem? The damage happens slowly and silently over the years.

Why Indians consume more salt

According to the doctor, salt intake in India comes from multiple sources throughout the day, including:

Home-cooked food

Pickles and chutneys

Packaged snacks

Instant noodles and processed foods

Extra table salt added before meals

Signs you may be eating too much salt

High sodium intake may show some warning signs like:

Frequent bloating

Swollen fingers or feet

Excessive thirst

Headaches

Craving salty foods often

Easy ways to reduce salt intake

The good news is that cutting down on salt does not mean eating tasteless food.

Here are some expert tips:

Taste food before adding extra salt

Use lemon, garlic, herbs, and spices for flavour

Avoid highly processed snacks

Check sodium levels on packaged foods

Switch to low-sodium alternatives if advised by a doctor

Doctors say taste preferences can change over time, meaning your body can slowly adapt to eating less salt naturally.
