Reports say that two helicopters collided mid-air as they traversed Rio's Recreio dos Bandeirantes region before crashing to the ground. The crash killed those aboard both aircraft. But authorities initially confirmed that although Oliver Tree showed up as a passenger on the list, formal identification for the accident was delayed as a result of the catastrophic fire. His family had also not yet released an official statement.

This collision also occurred during the early hours of Sunday morning in the beachside neighborhood of Recreio dos Bandeirantes, which is one of Rio's popular tourist attractions.

One helicopter had five passengers, the other had a pilot only. After colliding in the air, both aircraft crashed into the parking area of an electric car dealership. The impact set off a widespread fire that consumed several parked electric vehicles, scattering debris in the aftermath, complicating rescue operations and investigations. The exact reasons for the mid-air collision have not yet been confirmed by authorities.

Brazilian police officers identified Oliver Tree Nickell, 32, who appeared as one of the passengers on one of the helicopters.

Popular hits like “When I’m Down,” “Life Goes On,” “Miss You” and “Alien Boy” made Oliver Tree one of alternative music’s more recognizable artists with his singular style, catchy videos and raucous performances. He was allegedly on an international tour, hitting Brazil.

Other Victims Identified.

Some other victims identified in reports included:

• Argentine YouTuber Gaspar Prim, popularly known as Gaspi.
• Brazilian music producer Lucas Brito Chaves.
• Argentine director Lucas Vignale.
• Pilot Alexandre Souza.
• Pilot Charles Marsillac.

The six of those passengers aboard the two helicopters died in the crash.

The hospital has ordered an inquiry against Pawar. Such remarks are entirely unacceptable, said the Dean of King Edward Memorial (KEM) Hospital Dr Harish Pathak. He has appointed a two-member committee to probe the issue and furnish a report for taking necessary institutional action.

He said, "We exercise sensitivity when it comes to talking about dead people since their organs can be donated for medical purposes. We have constituted a two-member committee to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter. Appropriate action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation expected by evening.”

AIMSA Condemns Insensitive Representation

The All India Medical Students' Association has strongly criticised the insensitive and disrespectful representation of dead bodies.

"Every cadaver represents a noble individual who made the selfless decision of body donation for the advancement of medical education and scientific learning. It is because of these donors that generations of medical students are able to learn human anatomy and become doctors dedicated to saving countless lives. Such contributions deserve the highest degree of dignity, gratitude, and respect," AIMSA said.

“We also urge the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, to urgently intervene and ensure that such insensitive content, which disrespects body donors, medical ethics, and human dignity, is not promoted, broadcast, or circulated on any platform in the future," the body added.

Sejal Pawar Issues Public Apology

A clip of the comedian Pranit More's show is being circulated on social media in which Pawar could be seen talking about the dead bodies used for medical studies. Pawar can be heard saying that different parts of the body are chopped and she compares the size of the dead male patient's genitalia. Pawar has since apologised for the remark.

Pawar stated that she takes complete responsibility for her remarks and acknowledges the possibility of their being misunderstood.

She said, "I genuinely want to address a clip from a recent video that has been circulating. Having watched it back, I completely understand why people were upset by what I said. The topic is a sensitive one, and my comments came across in a way they shouldn't have. While there was never any intention to disrespect anyone, I recognise that impact matters more than intent.”

"As a student, this has been a learning experience for me, and it has made me reflect on the way I communicate, especially when discussing subjects that deserve greater thought and sensitivity. To everyone who was disappointed or hurt by the clip, I understand what went wrong, and I am genuinely sorry for that, and I would never let this happen ever again!" she added.

The outrage started after a segment of More’s crowd-work session spread widely on the internet. The video features an audience member explaining how during a date he spent ₹370 on a biryani and then anticipated a “return” on that expenditure. When the video was circulated on social media, thousands of users attacked the statement and asked why the comment was left unchallenged on the show. The outcry soon began to escalate, with several figures of public persona and people who post on Facebook and other social networking sites demanding that the individuals with the video be taken more seriously and also for the use of it to educate people on its merits or at least to prevent it from gaining ground.

Police now have a case filed as a matter with Maharashtra Cyber Police, and they have commenced with an overview of the "viral" nature of the content. Reports indicated officials are investigating what was happening in relation to the recording, dissemination and reverberations about the video.

Founder Vivek Vishwakarma addressed the controversy via a video, stating that the remarks did not align with the company's ethos and also acknowledged the issue began to have a negative impact on the office itself. According to him the dispute moved beyond just comments made after office hours. 

The outrage surrounding the controversy had started to negatively affect its employees, clients and the overall working environment thus a decision to separate from Jangra was made. The decision by the company was applauded by users on social media. 

Pranit More Issues Public Apology

Pranit More also posted an apology on Instagram regarding the same. He wrote, "I've seen the criticism regarding a recent crowdwork clip. The comments made by the audience member do not reflect my views. Looking back, I should have challenged the remark instead of laughing and moving on. That was a lapse in judgement on my part.”

A Gurgaon-based company, Starvik Design, has terminated employee Himanshu Jangra after his controversial comments during comedian Pranit More’s stand-up show went viral online.

He was also heard talking about pressuring the woman to accompany him to a secluded location despite her hesitation, which led to widespread criticism online.

Following the viral clips, Starvik Design released a public statement confirming that Jangra has been removed from his position.

The company said his comments were “offensive” and do not reflect its values or workplace culture.

Founder Vivek Vishwakarma clarified that while internal checks showed no workplace complaints against Jangra, the nature of the viral incident made it necessary to take action to protect the company’s reputation and environment.

Why Doesn't She Hire Indians?

She is on Instagram and in her viral video said her hiring decision is based on a person’s attitude, work and will to learn rather than his or her ethnicity.

She said many customers “have this assumption that every person working in an Indian restaurant has to be Indian.”

But she says that was never the philosophy behind her business.

“When people walk into an Indian restaurant, they basically assume that everybody working there has to be Indian. But we never hired like that,” she said.

“We Wanted a Great Team, Not an Indian Team”

Bhat added when her mother opened the restaurant, they wanted to offer opportunities to citizens at home, instead of hiring staff from one ethnic group.

“We didn’t set out to help build an Indian team. We set out to create a great team,” she said.

She also said employees had never eaten Indian food prior to joining the restaurant, but now confidently recommended dishes to customers and have their own favorites on the menu.

Bhat had a lot of followers on social media who backed her approach by complimenting her on stressing skills and character over ethnicity.

But there were others who said a restaurant serving traditional Indian food should employ Indian chefs and staff to preserve its authenticity.

• "No Indian cooks, that's not authentic."
• "The employees should be knowledgeable about the menu and customs as they are in the field."

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke posted a clip from the protest site, with numerous supporters. In writing the clip to social media, Dipke wrote “They said cockroaches will never come on the ground...,” addressing sceptics who questioned what the movement's base was like.

The protest was arranged in an effort to request the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan after a probe into the NEET paper leak as well as alleged irregularities in CBSE Class 12 results. Sonam Wangchuk, a social activist, was among the demonstrators to have joined the demonstration, which gave further momentum to the movement.

Dipke, however, who arrived in New Delhi earlier in the day from the United States, warned that if Pradhan does not step down by 5 PM, a nationwide agitation could be triggered.

The Cockroach Janata Party became a satirical political movement last month following comments of Chief Justice of India Surya Kant during a court hearing in which some individuals were described as "cockroaches" and "parasites."

The event involved students, test-taking individuals, and worried parents expressing dissatisfaction with the current education system. While some online users said the turnout was lower than anticipated, others posted photographs of a large turnout at the venue.

CJP's Key Demands

Not only is the CJP seeking Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation the government needs to face accountability, the CJP is also pressing government to promote more accountability in education system before the new digitalisation plans are implemented.

While the digital revolution took over higher education as well, protesters said that exam leaks, unfair practices, and a lack of transparency are problems that students are still facing.

Participants also flagged the rising mental anguish students are experiencing due to competing exams and the lack of accountability for educational injustices. The movement has been advocating for fair tests, open evaluation systems and a better safeguard of students' rights.

Six People Detained During Protest

Six were reportedly held by the police at Jantar Mantar as part of a countermeasure to the possibility of a fighting between the movement's supporters and detractors.

Security was kept tight at all times during the protest with more than 1,000 police forces mobilising to New Delhi and other sites of threat to protect the population from law and order.
