She stated clearly that she disapproved of the celebration of the slap, and she also said that security personnel should not take the law into their own hands. Shabana Azmi posted on Twitter, stating, "I have no love lost for Kangana Ranaut. But I can't find myself joining this chorus of celebrating 'the slap'. If security personnel start taking the law into their hands, none of us can be safe."

The viral footage from the airport showed Kangana being taken to a check-in counter where A verbal argument took place, but the video did not capture the slap. Kangana later explained her side of the story in a video. She mentioned about the rising terrorism in Punjab and also stated that the constable hit her and used abusive language, claiming to support farmers.

Kulwinder Kaur, the woman constable who slapped Kangna, stated that she slapped Kangana because she felt the actress disrespected farmers.
