Along with a book of stamps honouring Lord Ram from all across the world, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled commemorative postal stamps honouring the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya. The stamp book is an attempt to highlight Lord Ram's attraction to different communities around the world. "Today, I got an opportunity to engage myself in another programme related to the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony. Today, six postage stamps dedicated to the Ram Temple were released. Besides, a book of stamps issued on Lord Ram around the world was also released," said PM Modi after releasing commemorative postage stamps on Ram Temple.

"Lord Ram, Goddess Sita and stories of Ramayana are connected with everyone irrespective of his/ her religion or caste. Ramayana teaches us about the victory of love despite all the challenges. It connects the entire humanity with itself, and that's why it has gathered attraction across the entire world," added the PM.

The stamps

There are 6 stamps which include: Ram Temple, Lord Ganesh, Lord Hanuman, Jatayu, Kevatraj, and Ma Shabri. The gold leaf of sun rays and Chaupai lend a majestic icon to this miniature sheet. The five physical elements i.e. sky, air, fire, earth, and water, known as 'Panchabhutas’ are reflected through various design elements and establish the perfect harmony of Panchamahabhutas essential for all manifestations.

Components of the design include:

  1. Ram Mandir
  • Choupai 'Mangal Bhavan Amangal Hari'.
  • Sun.
  • Saryu River.
  • Sculptures in and around the temple.

This tiny sheet has a grandiose iconography thanks to the sun's rays and 'choupai' in gold leaf. The sky, air, fire, earth, and water—the five physical elements known as "Panchabhutas"—are reflected in a variety of design components, establishing the complete harmony of "Panchamahabhutas," which is necessary for all manifestations. This 48-page book covers stamps issued by more than 20 countries including like US, New Zealand, Singapore, Canada, Cambodia, and organizations like the UN.
