22nd May 2023, Mumbai: In the event that Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia are also subjected to a polygraph test, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh stated that he is willing to take it.

Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the president of the Wrestling Federation of India and a member of parliament for the Bharatiya Janata Party, declared on Sunday that he was willing to submit to a polygraph examination provided protesting wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia were also subjected to one.

“I am willing to submit to a polygraph, lie detector, or narco test, but only on the condition that Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia likewise submit to these tests. Call the media and make an announcement if both wrestlers are prepared to take their tests; I assure them that I will be as well.”,Bri Bhushan wrote on Facebook

The WFI chairman made his remarks on a day when the khap’mahapanchayat’ determined that the women who were protesting against him would conduct a panchayat in front of the new Parliament building on May 28, the day Prime Minister Narendra Modi would open the structure.

On a day when a “major decision” was expected, the leaders of khap panchayats gathered in Rohtak, but after hours of discussion, they decided to march to the Parliament.

While Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat remained back at the protest site at Jantar Mantar, Sakshi Malik and her husband Satyawart Kadiyan attended the mahapanchayat.

When asked if the wrestlers are happy with the Mahapanchayat’s decision, Punia responded, “We welcome this decision.””It will be decided later whether or not the men’s supporters would accompany the women”, he said.

The choice Indicates that the wrestlers have decided to prolong their conflict with the WFI chief, whom they have accused of sexually abusing many female wrestlers.

The Asian Games trials would probably be organised around June 20 by the IOA’s ad hoc commission, which is entrusted with overseeing the Wrestling Federation of India’s operations.
