The High Performance Director for Indian boxing was announced on Monday and is Irish boxing icon Bernard Dunne, who has produced Olympic and world champions.
Dunne, a well-known figure in the boxing community, will join the Indian team after a fruitful five-year tenure with the Irish Athletic Boxing Association in the same capacity.
The place left vacant by Santiago Nieva will be filled by the 42-year-old, who has won the European Championship (2007) and the WBA World Championship (2009).
According to Dunn, India has a wealth of boxing skill and its athletes have been excelling.
