Prior to the game, Kohli had also discussed his attitude to playing this season. “Quality still wins out for me over quantity,” he stated. more so now that I’m approaching 36 and in this point of my profession. I’ve gotten so good at my game over the years that I can practise less and still be mentally sharp. and a few more difficulties to help you get better at your own game. There are some parts of the game that you wish to improve. It’s a continuous process. I’m not the kind of guy who likes to sit around and say, “This is how I play,” failing to make the necessary improvements.”
He said, “I brought out the slog-sweep to the spinners,” in reference to his slog sweep shot against the spinners. I was the one who put myself in that scenario mentally. I didn’t even try to practise that. I’ve played that shot a lot in the past, so I know I can hit it. That shot was something I used to hit frequently in the past, so I just felt like I wanted to take a little more of a chance. I can now hit off the backfoot thanks to that shot. In order to counter the spin, I am always trying to uncover that side of the field. For me, it has played a major role in the IPL.”
