6th June 2023,Mumbai: Shivangi Sarda’s extraordinary performance at the recent Ironman Triathlon in Germany has garnered widespread attention, firmly establishing her as a standout athlete. Outshining all competitors, she achieved an impressive feat during the Ironman World Championship held in Hamburg City on June 4, completing a grueling course consisting of a 3.8 km swim, 180.2 km cycle, and 42.2 km run in just 13 hours and 47 minutes. Shivangi’s sporting achievements go beyond this event, as she previously conquered the Ironman 70.3 in Chongming, Shanghai, in 2019, and she holds the distinction of being named the greatest basketball player in Rajasthan for three consecutive years.
While many male professionals have earned recognition and acclaim in various fields, the acknowledgment of female professionals and their dominance across diverse domains has often been limited. The Ironman World Championship, organized by the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC), is a renowned triathlon event that challenges participants to undertake a grueling test of endurance. It involves a 3.9 km swim, a 180.2 km bike ride, and a full marathon of 42.2 km. The swimming and cycling segments at Ironman Hamburg had time limits of 2 hours 20 minutes and 15 hours 30 minutes, respectively. The event drew a substantial participation of 2500 individuals from various nations across the globe. Shivangi Sarda is set to return to India on June 16, 2023, after her triumphant performance.
Beyond her athletic accomplishments, Shivangi has also made significant contributions to promoting a healthy lifestyle through her business venture, Fitness Trail by Shivangi. Founded in 2019 out of her passion for fitness, the enterprise aims to make exercise and physical well-being a daily practice for people. As an ASCA (Australian Strength and Conditioning Association) certified S&C coach, Shivangi has been dedicatedly coaching individuals and athletes both online and offline, focusing on general health, running, and strength and conditioning. She attributes her success to the guidance and support of Brijendra Singh, a devoted cyclist who taught her the intricacies of riding, and her mentor and fellow Ironman, Amit Chaturvedi.
