Thane court gives man to 20 years RI for sexually assault of 6-year-old girl

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India] March 18: The rapist who who is 38 years old and lives in Bhayandar, was found guilty by special judge D S Deshmukh of charges under sections 376 & 376 of the Indian Penal Code as well as parts of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

Tuesday, the copy of the order which was passed last week was made public.Rekha Hiwrale, the public prosecutor, said the crime happened in Bhayander on February 11, 2021.

When the mother of the victim going to home from work, she found that her daughter was missing and was told that their friend, the suspect, had taken her outside for some food.The girl was found at the house of the suspect having two ₹10 bills. Later, she told her mother that the suspect had given her money, taken off her clothes and touched her in a sexual way.
 It was reported that the accused did something wrong, and the next day they were jailed.

In the order, the court replied, "The act of sexual assault on the child is to be taken very seriously, and such crimes are to be dealt with in a strict manner."The judge accepted the rapist's call for kindness, pointing out that he had been in jail since 2021 and his family depended on him.

"The criminal said that he is now 38 years old." He has been in jail for more than four years now. He is the only one in the family who makes money. He has a wife, kids, and parents who are getting old. "These facts have to be taken into account when an offender is given their sentence," he said.

Still, he used the POCSO Act as an example and gave the accused 20 years in custody with labour charges, a ₹10,000 fine, and three months of simple jail time in case they didn't pay.

The judge told the lawyer that the time he has spent in jail since being arrested would be added to his  due date.
