In Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, a man was allegedly bludgeoned to death by his companion following a quarrel over a cell phone. Police claimed that the offender, a child, has been placed under arrest.
The youngster had taken Shakir's phone and sold it to his pal. A fight broke out between the two because Shakir had been requesting that the child return his cell phone.
The two got together on Sunday and shared alcoholic beverages. The child refused to give over his cell phone when Shakir requested him to do so once more, claiming he was broke. Shakir was killed by the accused after a quarrel broke out in which he assaulted him with a brick.
"Alcohol was a problem for both Shakir and the accused, and their argument over the phone got out of hand during a drinking session," a senior police official stated. The official also mentioned that a complaint has been filed and that the accused is being held by the police.
