Shreyas Iyer spoke about Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s chances of playing in T20Is, explaining that the young batter may have to wait for his opportunity.
Iyer pointed to the competition for places in the team. Consistent performances from the current openers make it difficult for Sooryavanshi to enter the playing XI.
The young batter is expected to keep improving and learn from the team environment. At just 15, he has time to develop his game and gain experience.
India's upcoming five-match T20I series against New Zealand begins on October 22. Iyer said playing overseas will help Sooryavanshi understand different conditions.
