Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were released from Tihar Jail after spending seven days in judicial custody.
The two leaders were detained after allegedly entering Jantar Mantar, a site no longer designated for protests, and waving the national flag on October 13.
Their release came after they submitted a written undertaking promising not to organise protests at Jantar Mantar until the restrictions are lifted.
The magistrate rejected Delhi Police’s request to extend their custody by three more days. The Delhi High Court had earlier declined to intervene in the matter.
