Mirabai Chanu won the silver medal in the women’s weightlifting event at the Asian Games today.

The silver became Chanu’s first Asian Games medal after finishing fourth at Hangzhou in 2023.

Mirabai Chanu successfully lifted 83kg, 85kg and 87kg in all three snatch attempts.

She opened with 107kg before clearing 111kg in her second clean and jerk attempt.

Chanu finished with a combined total of 198kg, earning silver in the women’s 49kg category.
