Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami announced his retirement from Test cricket on November 6, ending his 13-year journey in the longest format.
The 36-year-old finishes his Test career with 229 wickets in 64 matches, including six five-wicket hauls. He made his debut against West Indies in 2013.
Shami announced his decision through an emotional social media post, thanking his teammates, coaches, family, BCCI and fans for supporting him.
His retirement is limited to Test cricket, as he plans to continue playing white-ball formats.
