Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha’s name has been removed from the draft voter list of Punjab prepared by the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR), with his name flagged as permanently shifted.
Chadha alleged a clear case of political vendetta and also stated he was availing all remedies under SIR guidelines to rectify his omission before the final list of voters was out.
The AAP has rejected all charges pressed by the MP and accused Chadha for trying to get back date the transfer of his voter registration from one state to another and for being a Delhi resident.
The controversy comes against the backdrop of Chadha’s recent political shift. He was among seven of the 10 AAP members who shifted to BJP in April.
