Rohit Sharma became the fastest batter to score 10,000 ODI runs as an opener, reaching the milestone in just 202 innings.
Rohit broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record, who had taken 214 innings to score 10,000 ODI runs as an opener.
Rohit became only the fourth batter in ODI history to reach 10,000 runs as an opener. He joined Sachin Tendulkar, Sanath Jayasuriya and Chris Gayle on the list.
Rohit's record came after he scored a century in the second ODI against West Indies. He had also crossed the 12,000-run mark in his ODI career during the series.
