British comedian and actor Russell Brand has been found guilty of rape and three counts of sexual assault by a London court.

The convictions relate to offences committed against four women between 2004 and 2009.

The judge refused Brand's bail request and remanded him into custody. He is scheduled to be sentenced on November 9.

Brand denied all charges, claiming the encounters were consensual. However, the jury convicted him on four counts.
