YouTuber Dhruv Rathee was detained by police from his home in Sector 56, Gurugram ahead of a planned protest in Delhi.
Rathee was planning to join the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest at Jantar Mantar. The protesters are demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Police had denied permission for the protest, citing security concerns and other requirements.
The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) took to social media after Dhruv Rathee’s reported detention, saying, “They are terrified of the young people.”
