31st May 2023, Mumbai: After President Vladimir Putin’s accusation of Ukraine for the strikes, Russia’s envoy to the United States said on Wednesday that Washington is supporting Kyiv by openly downplaying the drone attack that targeted numerous Moscow neighbourhoods on Tuesday.

In response to the event, which Putin described as an effort to frighten and antagonise Moscow, the White House stated that it did not encourage strikes inside of Russia and that it was still gathering facts.

What are these attempts to conceal themselves by claiming to be “gathering information”? The ambassador, Anatoly Antonov, stated in comments posted on the Telegram messaging platform.

“This is an encouragement for Ukrainian terrorists.”

A presidential advisor for Ukraine denied that Kiev was directly responsible for the drone strike on Moscow, but he added that Ukraine was enjoying the situation and expected more to happen.

Two people were hurt in the attack on Moscow, which occurred after Russia attacked Kyiv three times in one day and 17 other cities in May, causing havoc and inciting terror.

Russia has long accused what it calls the “collective West” of staging a proxy war against Moscow by supporting Ukraine with military and financial aid.

Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, devastating cities, forcing millions of people to flee their homes and costing thousands of lives.

Moscow calls the war a “special military operation” to “denazify” Ukraine and protect Russian speakers. Kyiv and its allies say it is an unprovoked land grab.
