66 people were hurt and at least five people were killed in a large fire that broke out at a Durga Puja Pandal in Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh, last night, according to officials. Three of the victims were children.
According to the authorities, the aarti was in progress when the fire started at around 9 o’clock, and about 150 people were present inside the pandal at the time.
They stated that the injured were taken directly to the hospital for treatment.
Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, has expressed his condolences for the incident’s fatalities.
The Chief Minister’s Officer said that he has instructed district administration representatives to go to the hospital and ensure the injured are treated properly.
