Actor Rayya Labib hit out at drama queen Rakhi Sawant for accusing her husband of cheating, saying that Adil Durrani is an honest man and that Rakhi is doing it only for publicity.
“While I do not know Adil personally on a one-to-one basis, I have known the family,” said the Turkish-Iranian origin actor.
“Rakhi is doing this only for publicity, to stay in the limelight. She just lost her mother. She should stay quietly at home in mourning. Instead, she is going around town giving interviews accusing her husband of cheating on her which is not correct. Adil is an honorable man. He may have been conned by someone else, but that does not mean he is going to cheat. He has spent a fortune and given Rakhi gifts worth several lakh,” Rayya told this reporter.
Sawant in an interview to E Times, spoke about the problems that she had been facing with her husband Adil Khan.
According to E Times, the Main Hoon Na star also requested the paparazzi to not conduct any interviews of Durrani or even interact with him as it was she who brought him in limelight.
“I don’t want you to take any interviews of Adil or even try to make him a big star. Usne industry main ana tha isliye mera istemaal kiya (He just wanted that to use me and enter into the industry.) He will not come to the gym and will be here to just give interviews, which I don’t want at all.”
She further added, “ Adil is a liar. He swore by the Quran that he will block that girl. But he did not do it and now that girl is blackmailing him. She has some dirty proof about Adil,” Rakhi was quoted by the website as saying.
However, Rayya rubbished all these claims. “I have known Adil’s family. He has spent lakhs on Rakhi, why will he cheat? He can just walk out. He does not need Rakhi for publicity. He can afford to produce his own film or web series. Why does he need a ‘dying star on its last legs’ like Rakhi,” Rayya asked?
