A Minor Girl Gets Married And Dies In Police Station

An horrible incident took place in Bihar’s Tarabari village of Araria district. A man married his minor sister-in-law as his wife died , two days ago. Angry villagers fire the whole police station the both married man and woman dies in a suicide. The people leaving, eye witnessed gave a statement that police took them to Custody soon after the marriage they both died in the custody after being beaten up by cops. The police showed the CCTV footage   the man himself climbed up to the lock up door and hang themselves with a cloth.  After the footage shown the locals calms down bit The death of couple shook the whole village with anger, they vandalized the police station approx.  five police men got injured.

As per the the marriage act 1929 the age of girls was below 14 years and boys age were 18 later in 1978 the minimum age was converted to 18 for girls and for boys it was increased with 21 there are approx. 1002 cases filed till 2022 the underage marriage The custodial death raises concern about human rights violation.
