The upcoming sci-fi actioner Raaka, directed by Atlee and starring Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone, has been creating quite the buzz ahead of its 2027 release. It will also mark the first time that Allu Arjun and Deepika are working together after collaborating with Atlee on Jawan starring Shah Rukh Khan.

With murmurs that Mrunal Thakur could also be a part of the project, the actor has opened up about the speculation while speaking to HT City about her upcoming projects, including her new release Pooja Meri Jaan

Asking if she was a part of the film, Mrunal said: “I like how you assume that I am doing Raaka.”

When asked to elaborate, the actor said: “Right now the announcement of upcoming films, I will make it on social networking sites soon. So that we put a full stop to all these rumours.”

It appears that the actor’s comments have done little to put an end to the speculation.

Actor Wants to Enjoy the Process of Acting

Speaking on the kinds of projects that she prefers, Mrunal said that she wants to “enjoy the process” rather than “analysing the result”.

She added: “In every film you experiment and you learn something new. It does not matter if it becomes a blockbuster or a disaster. It is the journey of learning that excites me.”

The actor added that she prefers projects that have an “impact” on the audience, adding: “I want to be a part of a project that connects with the audience and not just entertains them. I want my films to help people solve their problems, take decisions and be better human beings.”

Mrunal Thakur Wants More Romantic and Family Dramas

Mrunal also opened up about her wish to do more romantic and family dramas, saying that she enjoys watching such Hindi movies.

“It is the family dramas that I really love. I have seen Hum Saath Saath Hai, Hum Aapke Hain Koun and many more. I really want to do more romantic and family dramas,” she said.

Additionally, the actor said that she would like to return to Marathi cinema as she is “looking out for a good script” to surprise Marathi audiences with a project in the language.

Actor Celebrates Her Growing Global Reach

The actor added that she is “happy” to see her content “reaching out to the globe” as she has received messages from international audiences acknowledging her work on Love Sonia, Made in Heaven and Sita Ramam.

“I am just happy to be entering into the industry in a time where my work is appreciated not just in India,” she added.

For now, it appears that the actor’s next projects remain a mystery as she has yet to officially comment on the reports that she will join Atlee’s Raaka.
