Elderly Man Confronted Inside Metro Lift

A video from Delhi Metro has become very popular after a woman confronted a man for allegedly urinating inside a lift at Kalkaji Mandir Metro Station. This incident has caused a lot of reaction online with many people on media expressing concern about how clean and well behaved people are inside metro premises.

The video was shared on Instagram by Deepshika Mehta. In the video she is seen asking the passenger questions while recording what happened inside the station lift.

Deepshika Mehta said she got into the elevator with the man and two other passengers when she saw what was happening. When she confronted him the man said "Haan toh sorry jo karna hai karlo".

The video spread quickly across media platforms with people demanding stricter rules and penalties for this kind of behaviour in public transport areas.

Delhi Police Issues Official Clarification

Then Delhi Police explained what really happened. They replied to the post and said that the incident was because of a medical emergency.

The police said that the elderly passenger was travelling from Jamia Metro Station to Faridabad Metro Station on May 15 2026. When he got to Kalkaji Mandir Metro Station to change trains he had a medical issue and could not find a toilet in time.

The police said that the situation was very bad and the man had to urinate into a bottle while he was inside the lift.

DMRC Takes Action Against Passenger

The people who were at the station told the CISF and DMRC staff what happened.

The police said that the passenger was punished under Section 59 of the DMRC Act for causing trouble inside metro premises. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation also fined him.
