New Delhi (India) April 25:Punjab Kings demolished the target of 265 and bettered their record of the highest T20 chase, as they finished the match in style, by winning it with 6 wickets in hand and sealed the top position on the IPL 2026 table. In the first innings, a century from KL Rahul helped Delhi Capitals to score a gigantic 264/2 in 20 overs. 

Iyer Guides PBKS to a Comfortable Win

PBKS chased down the huge target with 18.5 overs to spare. Prabhsimran Singh (76 runs off 26 balls) and Priyansh Arya (43 runs off 17 balls) gave PBKS a flying start while Shreyas Iyer (71* runs off 36 balls) finished the match for the Punjab Kings, at the Arun Jaitley stadium, Delhi. 

KL Rahul Smashes Record 152* Knock

Earlier in the match, KL Rahul scored a mind-boggling 152 not out against the Punjab Kings, his career best score in the IPL and the highest score ever in the IPL by an Indian batter in an innings after Delhi Capitals opted to bat first. Rahul's 152 runs were scored at a strike rate of over 226 and his innings were laced with 16 boundaries and 9 maximums.
Nitish Rana also contributed with a fine 91-run knock of 44 balls, with the help of 11 boundaries and 4 maximums. Rahul and Rana scored 220-runs of 95 balls for the 2nd wicket, helping DC post a total of 264/2.

Ngidi Suffers Injury During Fielding

Delhi Capitals bowler Lungi Ngidihas been stretchered off the field after receiving a blow to his head while fielding, while attempting to catch the Punjab Kings batter Priyansh Arya in the third over of the match. The fast bowler of the Delhi Capitals looked to be struggling to get to his feet before a stretcher was brought on for the South African to be transported off the field of play with all medical precautions being taken. Lungi Ngidi has been taken to Karol Bagh hospital, New Delhi. Play resumed after a break of 15 minutes.
