He expressed optimism that the conflict with Iran would soon come to an end, stating that “nothing was left” in the West Asian nation.
Operation Epic Fury: "Cancer" Removed from Iran
His comments were part of a message to leaders of the world’s major industrialized countries, where he discussed the outcomes of a recent military operation called ‘Operation Epic Fury.’Sources close to the di scussion revealed that he described the operation as a significant success, asserting that he had “got rid of a cancer that was threatening us all,” referring to the situation with Iran.
Trump Jabs UK PM Starmer Over Base Access Delay
During the call, Trump also took a jab at UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer for his initial reluctance to allow the U.S. to use British military bases for the strikes against Iran, suggesting that Starmer’s assistance was no longer necessary in front of the other G7 leaders.
"You should have proposed it before the war — now it is too late," he said.
G7 Leaders Push for Strait of Hormuz Security
As the G7 leaders gathered, they expressed concern over the economic repercussions of the ongoing U.S.-Israel conflict in Iran. Reportedly, they urged Trump to bring the war to a close and stressed the importance of securing the Strait of Hormuz as quickly as possible. Trump responded by indicating that the situation in the Strait was improving and encouraged commercial shipping to return to the area. However, later that night, two tankers were set ablaze off the coast of Iraq.
Iran's New Leader Vows Vengeance, No Backdown
In sharp contrast, approximately 24 hours later, Iran’s new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei , made his first public statement since taking office, vowing that the country would continue its fight.
By Day 14 of the conflict, there were no indications that the Iranian regime was ready to back down. In fact, it seemed to be seeking more leverage as tensions around the Strait of Hormuz intensified. Khamenei reiterated his stance, declaring that “vengeance is a priority until fully achieved.”
