Early Life

Tanmay Sagar was born in India. Driven by early ambition, he left home at the age of 18 to pursue entrepreneurship and software building. During his late teenage years, he developed an interest in system design, programming infrastructure and building scalable technology products.

Career

Tanmay Sagar started his professional technology career as one of the early founding members of BharatPe. Alongside Satyam Nathani, he worked on the company’s early technology and digital-payment infrastructure during its growth phase.

In 2023, Tanmay co-founded OTPless with Satyam Nathani. The startup focused on reducing friction in user authentication through technologies including Silent Network Authentication, Passkeys and WhatsApp-based login systems.

Over the course of the company’s growth, OTPless expanded its platform to serve more than 300 million users. Its technology has been used by major consumer companies including Zepto, Meesho, ShareChat and Navi.

In September 2026, Tanmay transitioned into the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) at OTPless. The leadership transition followed the retirement of former CEO Bhavik Koladiya, while co-founder Satyam Nathani was named CEO. As COO, Tanmay is responsible for overseeing operations and execution as the company expands its identity and payment technology roadmap.

Education

Tanmay Sagar completed his fundamental schooling in India before securing admission to the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT Delhi).

He moved into the Zanskar Hostel at IIT Delhi in 2016, where he met his long-time collaborator and co-founder, Satyam Nathani. Tanmay eventually dropped out of IIT Delhi alongside Nathani to pursue technology ventures and startup building full-time.
