Chennai Super Kings Second Straight Win, Beat KKR by 32 Runs

New Delhi (India) April 15:The Chennai Super Kings celebrated their second consecutive victory, defeating the Kolkata Knight Riders by 32 runs. Unfortunately for KKR, they are still searching for their first win of the season, having managed only a single point from a washout match.

CSK Score 192/5 After Solid Powerplay Start

Batting first after KKR won the toss, CSK got off to a solid start. However, Sunil Narine and Varun Chakaravarthy slowed the momentum after the powerplay. Then, young Kartik Tyagi stepped up, finishing with impressive figures of 2 for 35. Despite the challenges, CSK ended their innings with a competitive score of 192 for 5 in 20 overs, thanks to notable contributions from Sanju Samson (48), Dewald Brevis (41), and a dynamic 38 runs off just 17 balls from Ayush Mhatre, who dazzled with six fours and two sixes.

KKR Top Order Flops: Allen 1, Narine 24

Interestingly, Narine was promoted up the order alongside Finn Allen, but it did not quite work out; Allen scored just a single run, raising questions about his spot in the lineup. Narine struggled as well, contributing only 24 runs. Meanwhile, captain Ajinkya Rahane, batting at number three, faced difficulties and managed just 28 runs off 22 balls.
KKR's leading run-scorer Angkrish Raghuvanshi, added 27 runs to the total, but it was not enough to revive the innings. Cameron Green, batting fifth, registered a golden duck, which further dashed KKR's hopes.

KKR's Powell, Ramandeep Fight Late

KKR's fightback came too late. Rovman Powell (31 not out) and Ramandeep Singh (35) managed to build a 63-run partnership, keeping a flicker of hope alive, but the target proved too daunting.
For CSK , Noor Ahmad shone with the ball, taking 3 wickets for just 21 runs in his four overs, playing a crucial role in dismantling KKR’s chase. His spell in the middle overs was followed by a collapse that firmly put the game in Chennai’s hands.
Kartik Tyagi (2/35) and Sunil Narine (1/21) were the standout bowlers for KKR, but they could not prevent CSK from securing a decisive victory.
