Former Indian chairman of selectors MSK Prasad believes Virat Kohli is crucial for the side’s chances in the T20 World Cup in June. He feels his very important member of the team.

Reports of him being dropped from T20 team

Recently reports have suggested that selectors are thinking beyond Virat Kohli. They are looking for his replacement. Selectors are keen to drop him from the T20 side for the T20 World Cup, which will be held later this year. Virat made his comeback in T20 against Afghanistan earlier this year. He was out of the team for almost 14 months.

Virat was on Break

Virat Kohli was on break after he missed the whole test series against England. He became father again as his wife delivered baby boy called “Akaay” . So to spend his time with family he was out of action. But now the star batter is ready to make his comeback from this year’s IPL.

Prasad backs Kohli

Speaking to the official broadcasters of the IPL, MSK Prasad asked the selectors not to treat the IPL as a medium for Virat Kohli’s selection to the Indian World Cup side. “Kohli is crucial for India in the T20 World Cup. The selectors can’t think that IPL is a place for him to prove his quality. He was never out of the team for his form. He missed India matches because of family reasons. He has been In form for a long time. He will make runs in the IPL as well,” said MSK Prasad.

Virat Kohli – The Run Machine

Despite not playing T20 cricket for India since the 2022 World Cup until the Afghanistan series, Kohli has been in magnificent form. The champion batter was the leading run-scorer in India’s final run at the 2023 ODI World Cup, finishing with a single edition record of 765 runs. Kohli also has a stellar record in T20 World Cups as the tournament’s all-time leading run-scorer with 1,141 runs at an average of 81.50 and a strike rate of 131.30. Kohli is a champion batter in any format of the game.

Kohli joined RCB Camp

Virat Kohli recently joined RCB camp. Fans were very happy see him back in Bangalore. He was seen practicing inside the nets in Bangalore. Maxwell has also arrived in RCB camp. Both of them are very crucial for the team’s success this year. Bangalore will be keen to win their maiden trophy this year.

On 17th March RCB won the Women’s Premier League by defeating Delhi Capitals. After the match Virat Kohli made the video call to congratulate the women. He congratulated everyone. Fans appreciated this gesture of Kohli.

Mandhana didn’t hear anything

Mandhana revealed later that she could not hear anything what he said as there were very loud cheers in the stadium. She said: “I didn’t hear anything he was saying because it was too loud, he was like just thumbs up and I just did thumbs up, I will be meeting him.”
