SRH came with a strategy

The stage was set at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, the home-ground of the SRH team, where it stepped up to meet the expectations. With a blend of aggressive intent and classical cricketing shots, SRH batsmen orchestrated a batting masterclass that left the MI bowlers exasperated.

From the very beginning, SRH’s plan was clear – to hit hard, to hit big, and then go bigger and harder as the game progressed. The opening pair laid the foundation with a partnership that included cautious singles with explosive sixes. The momentum was set, and what followed was a relentless attack on the MI bowling attack. Every bowler who was given the ball faced the same fate – a mountain of runs that seemed to flow endlessly.

The SRH batsmen were not just finding the gaps; they were creating them, turning good deliveries into scoring opportunities and sending them off for boundaries.

Records were Broken

SRH posted 277/3 in 20 overs in Hyderabad, going well past RCB’s total of 263/5 that the franchise scored in 2013 against the now-defunct Pune Warriors India.

Travis Head reached his half-century in a mere 18 deliveries, shattering the SRH record for the fastest fifty by a player. Yet, the record was swiftly eclipsed as young left-handed batsman Abhishek Sharma outpaced him, reaching his fifty in just 16 balls.

It was not just raw hitting that took SRH to this mammoth total, but calculated risks and smart cricketing brains. Rotating the strike when needed, punishing the loose balls, building on partnerships, and most importantly, adapting to the pitch conditions.

Here is the list of the highest totals in IPL history:
