The horror movie Haunted 3D: Echoes of the Past did well on its first day at the box office in India. It actually did better than some movies that came out this week including ones with famous people like Imtiaz Ali, Kangana Ranaut and Manoj Bajpayee.

The movie is a deal for director Vikram Bhatt because it is the next part of his popular Haunted 3D series. The first Haunted 3D movie came out in 2011. People loved it. It even did well on TV and online.

The movie made around ₹2.5 crore on its day. This is an amount of money especially for a horror movie. The total amount of money it made is around ₹2.95 crore.

The movie was shown in 2,907 theaters across India. 15.7% Of the seats were filled, which is not bad for a horror movie. The Hindi version of the movie made the money, around ₹2.85 crore. The Telugu version made around ₹6 lakh.

Haunted 3D: Echoes of the Past was the movie of the week

It did better than movies that came out this week. Imtiaz Alis movie Main Vaapas Aaunga made around ₹1.15 crore on its day. Kangana Ranauts movie Bharat Bhagya Vidhata made around ₹1 crore. Manoj Bajpayees movie Governor made around ₹90 lakh.

The movie also did better than some of Vikram Bhatts movies. His movie Tumko Meri Kasam made around ₹15 lakh on its day. His movie 1921 made around ₹1.56 crore.

The movie even did better than some Hollywood movies that are playing in India. Steven Spielbergs movie Disclosure Day made around ₹1.8 crore on its day. The movie Backrooms made around ₹73 lakh.

This shows that people in India really like horror movies, ones with a well-known name like Haunted 3D.

Now people are waiting to see how well the movie does on the weekend. If people keep talking about how good it's it could make even more money on Saturday and Sunday. The next two days will be important, in deciding if Haunted 3D: Echoes of the Past will be a movie.
