The CEO of Lenskart, Peyush Bansal, has expressed interest in purchasing 25 acres of land close to Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, and Karnataka Industries Minister M B Patil has directed officials to help him. Bansal posted this plea for suitable property for the building of Lenskart's next massive facility on the professional networking site LinkedIn. Minister Patil posted his demand and received a positive response within five minutes, highlighting Karnataka's willingness to assist Lenskart.
What’s the fuss all about?
The well-known judge on "Shark Tank India," Peyush Bansal, listed Lenskart's requirement for land within a 60-kilometer radius of the Bengaluru airport in a LinkedIn post. Minister M.B Patil promised Bansal that the Industries Department would support him wholeheartedly and that relevant officials would help him right away.
"Karnataka is the ideal location! The Industries Department at @peyushbansal @Lenskart_com is available to assist you with any of your needs. Officials who are concerned will get in touch right away," the minister declared.
How are citizens responding?
Press Trust of India stated, citing sources, that Minister Patil has provided the required directions to enable Lenskart to construct its manufacturing unit in Bengaluru. Many people on 'X' have praised the Karnataka government for their prompt response.
However, several users advocated for growth in north Karnataka and voiced concerns about Bangalore's overcrowding in their suggestions for Lenskart's initiative. They suggested cities such as Bagalkot and Bijapur, emphasising their advantages in terms of connectivity, affordability, and plenty of available land.
"Respected minister and Peyush : please do plan your project location at Bagalkot or Bijapur , you will get land with reasonable price , low cost manpower ... we have good connectivity to Maha, HYD, and other parts of Karnataka .. already Bengaluru is overcrowded," a user wrote.
Another person commented, "Please place it far from Bangalore city, in an area rich in water. Continue northward past the airport."
Lenskart’s expectations from this project
Peyush Bansal launched Lenskart in 2010 as a spinoff of VALYOO Technologies, an initiative to improve consumers' lives by delivering premium eyewear directly to consumers and eschewing traditional retail channels. With the use of creative tactics including in-house production and internet sales in addition to physical locations, Lenskart has quickly grown to serve over 100,000 clients each month.
