Revisiting The Burari Deaths Of 2018

This incident from Monday carries an uncanny resemblance to the infamous Burari incident of 2018, where eleven members of a family were found dead at their home, hanging to the ceiling on July 1, 2018. Ten members of the family were hanged from the ceiling with blindfolds and mouth tapes. An elderly woman was found strangled in another room. Upon uncovering the handwritten notes of one of the members, the family allegedly believed in attaining salvation after following certain rituals, which led to their deaths. The case was concluded after investigators attributed psychosis or delusions with a family member, Lalit Chundawat, who suspectedly staged the deaths. Moroever, the case in Madhya Pradesh also bears resemblance to a case in Gujrat reported last year, where seven members of a family were found dead at their residence, including three children, with six dying due to poisoning and one hanging from the ceiling.
