New Delhi (India) February 16:On Monday, February 16, 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the India AI Impact Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, which is conducted in the capital city where India holds its pledge towards responsibly and actively building an inclusive AI policy space in India. 

PM Modi Promotes AI Innovation

According to PM Modi, India is at the vanguard of AI and AI aspirations show ambition and the responsibility to do so.
He said, “Bringing the world together to discuss AI! Starting today, India hosts the AI Impact Summit at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi. I warmly welcome world leaders, captains of industry, innovators, policymakers, researchers, and tech enthusiasts from across the world for this Summit.”

Raghav Chadha Hails India's Global AI Influence

The AI Impact Summit 2026 puts India squarely on the global agenda in terms of influencing discussions on artificial intelligence and technology governance, said Aam Aadmi Party MP Raghav Chadha in an interview on Monday.
Chadha said, India is also increasingly being recognized as a key player in the global conversation about the proper use, development and governance of artificial intelligence in a way that is useful to the general public.
"This is a defining moment for how we shape AI in the public interest. It will influence how we govern, build, and protect citizens in the years ahead," he said.

I&B Ministry Pavilion Showcases AI in Media

The Information and Broadcasting Ministry Pavilion at India AI Impact Summit 2026 would include panels, masterclasses and technology showdowns that highlight the impact of AI transforming media and entertainment with a focus on AI powered production process, multilingual voice services, gaming technology, content advertisement, and ethics in AI frameworks.
It will also include interactive AI-made micro-drama storytelling, the Kathavatar AI produced short films in collaboration with Adobe, and Shekhar Kapur’s masterclass on AI-driven storytelling, looking into how the genre of filmmaking and cultural authenticity has evolved. 

Summit's Ambitious Vision for Tech-Driven Future

Organizers and exponents of the expo are also working towards their vision that a world-class expo where technology is at the forefront and where startups, academia, research facilities, Union Ministries, state governments, and international partners can meet.
The Expo will also have 13 nation pavilions highlighting international cooperation in the AI ecosystem. Pavilions from Australia, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Serbia, Estonia, Tajikistan, and Africa.
