New Delhi (India) April 18:The Pune International Airport runway is again operational for regular flight movements after being closed for around nine hours due to a hard landing by an Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft. A routine night sortie was undertaken at the Air Force Station Lohegaon when the plane landed heavily at around 10:25 pm on Friday, injuring neither the air crew nor any of the civilian property.
The work of repairs and safety checks on the runway continued till the early morning hours. The efforts put in by IAF personnel resulted in operationalizing of the runway by 8:00 am on Saturday, while departures were allowed by 7:30 am and landings at 8:00 am.
