'Shut Entire Country If Scared of Youth': Dipke Slams Centre
'Shut Down Entire Country If Scared Of Youth' says CJP Founder Abhijeet Dipke ahead of the protest.

Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke slammed the Union government for cancelling several trains ahead of the party's planned protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar on October 10 and said the government should shut down the entire country if it is scared of the youth protesting against the Electoral Commission of India.

"Shut down the entire country if you are scared of the youth," Dipke said in Mumbai while commenting on the recent decision of the Railway Board which cancelled several Mail and Express trains that were set to arrive at major railway stations in Delhi on Saturday due to anticipated traffic congestion.

CJP Seeks Resignation of CEC Gyanesh Kumar

CJP has demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, alleging malpractices in the Election Commission of India's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, PTI reported.

The demonstration, however, coincides with heightened security and proposed transport restrictions in the national capital, with railways cancelling several services and metro authorities contemplating the closure of 57 metro stations.

Railways Cancel Services, Metro Stations to be Closed

The Railway Board cancelled certain Mail and Express services that were scheduled to arrive at New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin stations between 4 am and 2 pm on October 10, citing the likely traffic congestion on the roads surrounding the stations.

Delhi Police, on the other hand, has reportedly asked the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to contemplate the closure of entry and exit gates at 57 metro stations from Friday night to control crowds outside metro stations heading towards sensitive localities ahead of the protest.

Protest Day Security Concerns Prompt Restrictions

Dipke, however, questioned why authorities would deny a permission to hold a protest at a place meant for protests and expressed his concern over unnecessary restrictions being made ahead of the demonstration.

"The question arises why the government wants to stop us when we want to protest at a place meant for protests," Dipke said in Mumbai while addressing reporters.
