TMC’s Abhishek Banerjee Faces 6-Hour CID Questioning

The Criminal Investigation Department wanted to know some things from Abhishek Banerjee. They were asking Abhishek Banerjee about the things he said in some of his speeches.

This all happened at the Criminal Investigation Department office in Kolkatas Bhabani Bhaban. This is part of the trouble that Abhishek Banerjee is facing now.

Abhishek Banerjee went to the office around noon. He left at 6:30 pm on Tuesday. When he came out he did not talk to the media about what happened.

The whole thing is about a complaint that was filed against Abhishek Banerjee.

The complaint says that Abhishek Banerjee said some things during his speeches before the West elections.

Some person from the area complained to the Bidhannagar Police on May 15 that Abhishek Banerjee said some things. These things were shared on the news and social media.

The case was given to the Criminal Investigation Department to look into. Now they are checking Abhishek Banerjees speeches and the evidence they have.

This is not the time that Abhishek Banerjee has been asked questions. He was asked questions for over eight hours in another case about signatures of legislators. In another case he was asked questions for over five hours.

On Monday Abhishek Banerjee also went to the Enforcement Directorate. They are looking into some problems with a school recruitment case.

Abhishek Banerjee went to the Calcutta High Court to challenge the complaint. The court said that Abhishek Banerjee cannot be arrested or face any action until July 31. This means that Abhishek Banerjee is safe for now.

However the court told Abhishek Banerjee that he has to go to the investigating officers when they call him. The court also said that Abhishek Banerjee cannot leave the country without asking for permission

Abhishek Banerjee asked if he could talk to them over the internet.. The court said no Abhishek Banerjee has to be there in person.

The time the court will talk about this case is on July 20.

A person named Rajib Sarkar filed the complaint. The complaint says that Abhishek Banerjees speeches had some things in them.

There is a lot of tension in the state now. The ruling Trinamool Congress and the other parties are fighting about the investigations.
