Election Results and Oath Ceremony
The Lok Sabha election results have been announced. Yesterday, the BJP and its allies, who won the elections, participated in the oath ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan, also known as the President's House. President Droupadi Murmu administered the oaths to all the new leaders. Narendra Modi took the oath as Prime Minister, Amit Shah as Home Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar as Minister of External Affairs, and Nirmala Sitharaman as Finance Minister, along with other leaders who took oaths for their respective positions. They all pledged to serve the nation with utmost sincerity and made several commitments in their respective oaths. The ceremony was attended by more than a thousand guests, including many prominent international figures, Indian businessmen, Bollywood celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar, as well as religious leaders.
Public Reaction on Social Media
After learning the names of all ministers declared by the BJP, people on Twitter and other social media platforms have expressed outrage and outcry over the absence of Christian, Muslim, and Sikh leaders in any ministry. No ministry has even one leader from the Christian, Muslim, or Sikh communities. While some people are showing anger, accusing the BJP of being anti-minority, others still support the Bharatiya Janata Party's decision.
Support and Criticism
Some people supported the BJP's decision. One user even tweeted:
"During Elections, we, 23 crore Muslims, will defeat Modi. We will do vote-jihad against Modi. Issued a fatwa to vote against Modi. 98% of Muslims voted for TMC. Muslims voted for Congress. Muslims voted for SP. Muslims voted for DMK. After Elections, why is there no Muslim minister in the cabinet? Where is Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas? The government is anti-minority."
Another shared:
"Modi 3.0 victory and swearing-in ceremony Mega Meltdown. We will not vote for you, but we want full representation in your alliance."
Meanwhile, some opposed to the BJP said:
"Caste wise representation: OBC: 27, SC: 10, ST: 5, Minorities: 5, Muslims: 0, Sikh: 0, Christian: 0"
