China Says Border is Stable. Lin Jian, a security communications manager for China, said the situation along the India-China border at the moment is “generally stable,” as long as both sides continue to have uninterrupted lines of communication. Both countries are encouraged to view one another from an open-ended strategic perspective to build trust so that the misunderstandings between the two don’t grow, he told me. *India and China neither pose threat to nor obstruct; rather they are opportunities in both development and collaboration, Lin said. With regard to India’s criticism of China’s ties to Pakistan, the Chinese spokesperson noted that Beijing has its support for both India and Pakistan working out their disagreements peacefully. He also emphasized China’s stand is on regional stability and urged all parties to keep their cool and keep away from escalation. The India-Pakistan-China connection has been an acrimonious factor in South Asian politics since time immemorial as it has sometimes impacted the diplomatic talks between leading powers.
