PM Modi Urges More Women Medal Winners At IIT Delhi

During the event, PM Modi awarded medals to students who performed extremely well in their studies. He also inaugurated Param Pragya, an AI-enabled high-performance supercomputing facility at IIT Delhi’s Sonipat campus.

Addressing the graduating students, PM Modi said he felt proud to be present at the convocation and congratulated students, their parents and teachers on the occasion.

PM Modi's Remark On Women Medal Winners

As he congratulated the medal winners, PM Modi had a light-hearted comment about the number of female students among them.

He said the ceremony would have been even better if there had been one or two more daughters among the medal winners.

His comment stressed the need for more gender-based participation and representation among top-performing women in India’s top tech schools.

PM Modi also encouraged young women to aim for higher and make their mark in technology, research and other professional fields.

‘The One Who Learns Will Win’.

For the graduating students, PM Modi said they are entering the professional world at a time of fast technological and geopolitical transformation.

He explained that technology, industries, jobs and global power structures are changing rapidly. Because of this, it is hard to predict what the world will be like two or three decades from now, he said.

However, he did tell the students that continuous learning would be the key to success.

PM Modi said that though technology and professions will keep changing, people who are continuously learning and upgrading their skills will be well prepared for the future.

PM Modi Talks about India’s Future.

The young generation is responsible for India's development, the Prime Minister also talked about the young generation in India’s growth.

Every generation gets an opportunity to contribute to the country's progress, he said. Referring to the sacrifices made during India's freedom struggle, he said today's generation has a different responsibility.

As PM Modi said, students' decisions within the next 30 to 35 years will play a major role in India’s journey to being a developed country.

He urged graduates to think beyond individual success and to consider how their knowledge, careers and innovations can serve the country’s needs.

PM Modi Connects With Students' Dreams.

PM Modi also connected with the students by talking about the dreams they may have after graduation.

He said some students may feel joyous about receiving their first salary and some students may be preparing to move to a new city, start a business or prepare for another competitive examination.

He said everyone has a different career path and personal ambition.

But he said the excitement of entering a new phase of life is something all graduating students share.

Param Pragya Supercomputing Facility Inaugurated

PM Modi also inaugurated Param Pragya, a high-performance AI-powered supercomputing facility at IIT Delhi's Sonipat campus during his visit.

The facility would support research and innovation in artificial intelligence and high-performance computing.

The development is part of the increasing interest in technology and research infrastructure in Indian higher education institutions.

Prahlad Joshi Praises India's Education Growth.

Union Education Minister Prahlad Joshi also addressed the convocation ceremony.

Joshi said PM Modi’s vision has helped make India’s education system more learner-focused, research-driven and future-ready.

He congratulated graduating students and their parents and the whole IIT Delhi community.

Joshi also highlighted the government's focus on India's youth and said young people would play a major role in building Viksit Bharat 2047.

As Joshi argues, the educational institutions in India are not only producing graduates but also developing innovators, researchers and future nation-builders.

Higher Education Sector Expands Since 2014

Joshi also highlighted the expansion of India’s higher education sector since 2014.

He said more than 4.5 crore students are now enrolled in higher education across the country. The number of universities has also increased by nearly 70%.

According to the Education Minister, more than 650 new universities, 14,000 new colleges and more than 4,000 new ITIs have been established since 2014.

He also highlighted the addition of new institutions, such as nine IIMs, seven IITs and 13 AIIMS.The IIT Delhi convocation therefore unified celebrations for graduating students with a wider message about India's future, technology, education and the growing role of young people in the country’s development.
