King 100 RA.Karthik’s Vision Creates Massive Expectations for Nagarjuna film

Akkineni Nagarjuna’s landmark 100th film, ‘King 100’, is generating tremendous buzz across the Indian film industry, with director Ra Karthik bringing a high-octane and visually striking world to the screen. Touted to be inspired by one of Asia’s biggest financial scams, reportedly involving ₹50,000 crore in the early 1990s, the film promises an intriguing blend of crime, drama and adrenaline-pumping action.

The recently unveiled glimpse has caught attention with its sleek visuals, sharp dialogues, high production values and an uber-cool presentation of Nagarjuna. The response on social media has been overwhelming, with fans celebrating the glimpse and several industry veterans, including Chiranjeevi, along with prominent Tollywood directors, expressing their excitement about the project.

‘King 100’ also marks Ra Karthik’s Telugu debut with Annapurna Studios. The director previously earned international acclaim with his Netflix Original ‘Made in Korea’, which reportedly became one of the most-viewed Indian films on Netflix globally this year.

According to reports, Ra Karthik spent nearly a decade researching the subject and developing the story. Impressed by the filmmaker’s vision and the scale of the concept, Nagarjuna is said to have immediately given him the opportunity to direct the prestigious 100th film, despite it being Karthik’s first Telugu project.

The casting has further added to the curiosity surrounding the film. Reports suggest that Tamil actor Ashok Selvan is part of the project. Interestingly, Selvan previously played the lead in Ra Karthik’s directorial debut, ‘Nitham Oru Vaanam’. Nationally acclaimed actress Tabu is also said to be playing a crucial role, alongside Aishwarya Rajesh and Sushmita Bhat.

Adding to the anticipation, the makers have announced a Christmas 2026 release, placing ‘King 100’ in a major festive-season window and reportedly setting up a clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘King’. The announcement has further raised expectations around the project, particularly in Bollywood circles.

Ra Karthik’s visual style and grand presentation have become major talking points following the glimpse. The film appears to be a significant departure from his previous two outings, promising a much larger scale, more intense world and a distinctly stylish cinematic experience.

Adding further star power to the project is composer Devi Sri Prasad, who is scoring the music. With DSP and Nagarjuna coming together once again, expectations are high for a chartbuster album, especially following their successful musical collaborations in the past.

With Nagarjuna’s milestone 100th film, Ra Karthik’s ambitious vision, a strong ensemble cast and Devi Sri Prasad’s music, ‘King 100’ is emerging as one of the most anticipated Indian films of Christmas 2026.
