Caring for Nature This Summer
With summer approaching, and the months of June and July bringing intense heat and exhaustion, it's important to remember that our nature needs care as well. Here, we will share some things you can do to contribute to nature this summer.
Plant Native Species
First, plant more and more plants, especially native species. Choose native plants for your garden or balcony, as they support local biodiversity. Try to conserve water by fixing tap leaks and installing water-saving techniques.
Reduce Energy Consumption
Reduce energy consumption by unplugging devices not in use. Instead of air conditioning, use natural ventilation if the summer heat is tolerable.
Minimize Plastic Use and Support Local Farmers
Reduce plastic use by avoiding plastic straws and bags, which are not biodegradable. Support local farmers by buying locally produced items.
Help Birds and Stray Animals
Set up bird feeders to help birds in the scorching summer. Place water on your terrace or balcony for birds, and outside your home for dogs and stray animals.
Practice the Three R’s: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
Practice the three R’s: reduce, reuse, and recycle. Compost organic material and recycle paper, glass, and plastic. Educate and advocate for environmental issues by spreading awareness. Volunteer in your local area and join local clean-up campaigns to keep your environment clean. Encourage people to plant more trees and contribute to nature preservation.
Pledge to Protect Nature
Don’t you think our nature deserves care too? Let’s pledge to work for our environment and make it better for us. This will only happen if we treat nature well; only then will nature be good to us.
