Disappearance and Ransom Demand
On Sunday around 8 am, Puneet, a six-year-old boy, went missing while playing outside his house in Dhanpur village. His father, Gopal Yadav, is a police constable posted in Saharanpur. Later, Gopal received a ransom letter demanding ₹ 50 lakh for his son's return.
Initial Investigation
The police quickly began investigating. They detained a local woman whom the family suspected of kidnapping Puneet. However, despite the police efforts, the family found Puneet's body in a sugarcane field in the village.
Police Response
Senior Superintendent of Police Rohit Singh Sajwan stated that the ransom letter is being analyzed by the police. Circle Officer Navina Shukla confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.
Family's Allegations
The victim's family believes Puneet was murdered intentionally. They suspect that a land dispute with another family might be the motive behind the killing.
Arrests Made
The police have detained four people, including two women, for questioning regarding the incident. The investigation continues as the police seek justice for Puneet.
