Kerala High Court Orders Protection for Viral Kumbh Mela Girl

The Kerala High Court has taken steps to help the young woman who became famous after a video of her at the Prayagraj Kumbh Mela went viral on the internet.

The woman approached the High Court because she feared for her safety. She asked the court to direct the Kerala government and the police to provide her with protection.

After hearing her plea, the court ordered the police to ensure her safety. It directed the officer at the Ernakulam Central Police Station to provide security to her until the case is decided.

The court also issued notices to the Kerala government and the police. The matter will be heard again on July 10.

Husband Faces Legal Trouble Amid Age Dispute

The husband of the viral Kumbh Mela girl is facing legal trouble. He has been accused of kidnapping her. However, the court observed that the young woman appears to be an adult.

The court granted her husband one month of transit bail, allowing him time to approach a court in Madhya Pradesh and seek legal relief before any further action is taken against him.

The young woman became an internet sensation after a video of her selling rudraksh garlands at the Prayagraj Kumbh Mela was widely shared online. Many people were drawn to her smile and appearance.

Later, she married Mohd Farman in Kerala despite opposition from her family. The wedding was attended by some senior leaders of the CPI(M).

Her family claims that she is still a minor and not legally old enough to marry. Based on their complaint, Madhya Pradesh Police registered a case against Farman.

The court is now examining the dispute over the young woman's age and will also decide on the legal issues involving her husband in the coming hearings.
