Many top grossers of the year 2023 are yet to make a debut on the OTT platforms. These include films such as ‘The Kerala Story’, ‘Tiger3’, ‘Agent’, and ‘Animal’.
The Kerala Story
This movie is based on the story of a woman aspiring to be a nurse and is converted to Islam only to be coerced by her college mates who pose as friends. It was a super hit with the standout performance of Adah Sharma. It garnered many positive reviews and managed a commendable box office collection. The film is produced by Sunshine Pictures and directed by Sudipto Sen. There are indications that the digital streaming rights for ‘The Kerala Story’ have already been secured by a prominent OTT platform. As per reports, Zee5 has successfully acquired the OTT rights for The Kerala Story’. Hence the film will soon be available on ZEE5 for streaming.
Akhil Akkineni’s ‘Agent’
Agent is a 2023 Indian Telugu-language action spy film directed by Surender Reddy and written by Vakkantham Vamsi. It stars Akhil Akkineni, Mammootty, Dino Morea, Sakshi Vaidya and Vikramjeet Virk. The film marks the debut of Vaidya and Morea in Telugu cinema. Although the film didn’t do very well in the theatres, the fans are still eagerly waiting for its OTT release. Agent faced a lot of delays for its digital streaming. However, it is now finally being released on Sony LIV by the end of January 2024.
Tiger 3
Salaman Khan’s third installment of the Tiger franchise, Tiger 3 was initially said to be released on December 31st. Tiger 3′ faced a delay due to Bollywood’s strict 8-week exclusive theatrical window rule. According to this rule, Bollywood movies must wait for 8 weeks after their theatrical release before streaming on OTT platforms. Tiger 3′ is expected to be released on Prime Video worldwide on January 5, 2024.
Animal
Past 16 days of its release, Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal made an impressive ₹817.6 crore globally, establishing itself as a bona fide blockbuster. Many fans are now waiting for the movie’s OTT release date. The action-packed drama of Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna is expected to hit the OTT platform Netflix in the second or third week of January 2024.
